Each of the 13 states in the economic Appalachian region has its own difficulties in providing affordable, accessible, and quality healthcare. In order to create the biggest impact with our donations, each sale in the A Nice Lark series generates funds for wellness initiatives and organizations in a specific Appalachian state. Thirty-seven counties in Georgia lie within the Appalachian region, and the Appalachian Trail starts at Springer Mountain. Something found in each of these counties is the official state bird of Georgia – the Brown Thrasher, and the official state flower – the Rosa Laevigata, or Cherokee Rose. These symbols are reflected in this pin, and our mission is to ensure wellness is as prevalent in these counties as this beautiful bird and flower.
